ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accounting & Estimating Assistant to join our small, close-knit team. This is a combined role ideal for someone who enjoys both numbers and systems — handling day-to-day bookkeeping while also supporting our project pricing and estimation process.
We are actively modernizing our accounting workflow using automation tools including automated bank imports, digital invoice capture (AutoEntry/Dext), and Google Workspace integration. This means less time on repetitive data entry and more time on meaningful financial work. If you enjoy working smarter with technology, this role is a great fit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Bi-weekly payroll processing
- Monthly GST/PST filing
- Bank reconciliation using automated bank statement imports into Sage 50
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Maintain and update Sage 50 Quantum records
- Be part of building and implementing our new automated invoice capture system (AutoEntry or Dext)
- Inventory and job cost tracking
- Assist with connecting Google Sheets workflows to accounting processes
Estimating & Pricing Support
- Use prepared material take-offs to build project pricing sheets
- Apply company price lists to calculate project costs
- Calculate labour and margin using standardized templates
- Maintain and update pricing spreadsheets in Excel and Google Sheets
- Assist with high-rise and multi-family project pricing preparation
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills (formulas required)
- Sage 50 Quantum experience preferred
- Comfortable using or learning cloud-based automation tools (AutoEntry, Dext, Zapier)
- High attention to detail and ability to follow established systems
- Comfortable working independently in a small business environment
- Construction or trades industry experience is a strong asset
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $23–$28 per hour based on experience
- Full-time, stable position
