𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒
✱ Position Type: Part-time, independent con­trac­tor
✱ Location: Remote, from British Columbia
✱ Monthly Pay: CAD $20 per hour (with 5% annual increase), 8–12 hours per month, with more hours by agreement, depending on workload or during open submission periods and our event booth season (June to September)
✱ Perks: Pub­lishing with a pre­ferential royalty rate for your own work, paid travel to represent the press at events—and more!
✱ Term: A minimum commitment of one year, in­clud­ing paid technical set-up and editorial training and a paid three-month probation period

𝐖𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐄 . . .
An independent poetry press based in Nanaimo, BC that specializes in queer, transgender, women’s, neu­ro­di­ver­gent, and emerging voices in poetry. We’re cur­rent­ly looking for an Associate Editor to join our editorial board. We’re open to considering all folks with education in the Humanities (fields such as English, literature, and languages); past experience with writing, editing, or publishing is a plus. While we don't require formal experience in the industry, the ideal candidate would be professional, dependable, and extremely passionate about the art form of poetry and about uplifting marginalized voices. 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 . . .
✱ Respond to incoming manuscripts dur­ing open submission periods
✱ Work closely with authors to set ex­pectations and develop submissions
✱ Take part in peer reviews, editorial dis­cussions, and monthly staff meetings (during open sub­mis­sion periods)
✱ Co-develop publishing processes, work­flows, and guidelines together with the editorial board
✱ Represent and support the press at lit­erary events such as poetry readings, book fairs, and book launches
