✱ Position Type: Part-time, independent contractor
✱ Location: Remote, from British Columbia
✱ Monthly Pay: CAD $20 per hour (with 5% annual increase), 8–12 hours per month, with more hours by agreement, depending on workload or during open submission periods and our event booth season (June to September)

An independent poetry press based in Nanaimo, BC that specializes in queer, transgender, women’s, neurodivergent, and emerging voices in poetry. We’re currently looking for an Associate Editor to join our editorial board. We’re open to considering all folks with education in the Humanities (fields such as English, literature, and languages); past experience with writing, editing, or publishing is a plus. While we don't require formal experience in the industry, the ideal candidate would be professional, dependable, and extremely passionate about the art form of poetry and about uplifting marginalized voices. ✱ Respond to incoming manuscripts during open submission periods
✱ Work closely with authors to set expectations and develop submissions
✱ Take part in peer reviews, editorial discussions, and monthly staff meetings (during open submission periods)
✱ Co-develop publishing processes, workflows, and guidelines together with the editorial board
✱ Represent and support the press at literary events such as poetry readings, book fairs, and book launches
