The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides person-centred nursing care to residents of Britannia Lodge, a 24-hour licensed Mental Health Care Facility serving adults with varying degrees of Mental Health illnesses. The LPN practises in accordance with the Health Professions Act and the full scope of practice, standards, limits and conditions established by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and in alignment with Britannia Lodge policies, current evidence, and the individual nurse's competence to ensure high quality care for the residents.
The LPN works both independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team to deliver nursing care that addresses the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs of residents, the majority of whom are older adults with concurrent mental health, substance use, and chronic physical health conditions.
